BUCKTAIL JIG .... BACK TO THE BASICS

Taaaaanto tempo fa, una delle esche che usavo di più era il jig in bucktail classico americano, parliamo di 20 anni fa o più e il poco che si poteva trovare era attraverso i cataloghi americani tipo Bass Pro Shops e Cabela's, qualcos'altro me lo costruivo io con risultati esteticamente poco gradevoli ma funzionali, e devo dire che ci prendevo anche parecchio pesce di tutte le razze.
In questi anni l'ho messo un po' nel dimenticatoio, più comoda e facile la gomma, ma in molte occasioni il "pelo" avrebbe ancora una notevole superiorità; peccato che in Italia al solito si trovi pochissimo, magari si trovano delle jighead dressate in sintetico, ma nulla hanno a che vedere come capacità catturanti rispetto al materiale naturale, almeno nella mia esperienza.
E dato che ne ho spesso sentita la mancanza nella mia tackle box, ho cercato fino a trovare gli ottimi prodotti di Jurela's Jig, artigiano spagnolo molto bravo e capace e che propone un assortimento molto ricco di forme, pesi e colori.
Ordine veloce e preciso ed eccoci pronti per le nuove avventure, dal jig tipo squid che vorrei destinare alle ricciole, ai classici banana universali.

Loong time ago, one of my favourite SW lures was the classic bucktail jig, we're talking more than 20 years ago, and the few ones I could find were throug Bass Pro and Cabela's mail order catalogs; I sometimes built some ugly ones, that still worked on many species of fishes.
After that time I forgot about them, using them very seldom and replacing them with easier soft plastics, even if in may occasions and situations the "hair" would have resulted a definitely better choice; too bad in Italy it is almost impossible to find something of good quality, there are maybe some products dressed with sintetic fibers, but not even close to the natural for fish catching properties, at least in my experience.
So I stumbled upon Jurela's Jigs products, made by a skilled spanish artesan who offers an ample selections of models, sizes and colors.
A quick order and here I have plenty of new toys to play with, from the "squid" type I wanna use for amberjacks to the universal banana head.

Per trovare foto di pesci mi è toccato usare lo scanner, a prova di quanto tempo è che non li uso,ma è tempo di recuperare... anche il mio look è cambiato un pochino dall'epoca dei Flinstones, very vintage!!:D :D

To find some fish pics I had to dig into the memory box, and use scanner, due to the long time I've not been using these lures... time to correct this.... also my look has changed over the decades after Flinstones age :D :D
