Anche il nostro avversario è poco conosciuto, non il famoso peacock bass ma l'Aimara, anche nota come trairao, un pesce che fa impallidire per ferocia tutti gli altri predatori d'acqua dolce che ho incontrato finora.

Also our target is far from well known, not the famous peacock bass but Aimara, as known also as trairao, a fish that make pale every other freshwater predator I met up to now for its ferocity.

I nostri aimara sono una specie di mostro preistorico con mandibole temibili e irte di denti, sono i padroni del fiume e attaccano tutto ciò che si muove, dai pesci ai bradipi che nuotano; si aggirano in un palmo d'acqua sotto le rapide con la schiena fuori come pure nel sottoriva tra i mille tronchi abbattuti. Sono i topwater di grossa taglia che rendono la pesca più divertente, ma nei momenti di forte luce dobbiamo cercarli sotto con spinnerbait e altri artificiali affondanti
The aimara is a kind of prehistoric fish with mean maws full of big teeth; they are the ruler of the river and strike everything that swim in it, from fishes to sloth to monkey; they roam in few inches of water under the rapids with their backs out of the surface or they hide under the thousand of sunken timbers of the shoreline. Big topwater are the most effective presentation but in moments of full light it's necessary too look for them with sinking lures like big custom spinnerbaits or soft plastics.

Nella seconda parte della settimana risaliamo le rapide alla ricerca di livelli migliori e pesci più attivi nella parte più inaccessibile del fiume, sarà bivacco primitivo nella jungla.
Second part of the week we cross the rapids directed to the less accessible part of the river, in order to find a better level of water and more active fishes, it will be camping in the jungle

Ma gli sforzi vengono ricompensati da un pesce di 11 chili che attacca l'habano 160 FW da 70 grammi nell'acqua bianca sotto una cascata, una specie di salmone giurassicho che si esibisce in salti apparentemente impossibili per un pesce così tozzo, ma il PE5 e la Baronknight ne hanno ragione
Efforts are rewarded by a 11 kilos fish that takes the habano 160 FW in the white water below a waterfall, a kind of jurassic salmon that goes airborne several times despite its blocky body shape, but PE5 and Baronknight dominate it at the end.
Le catture sono numerose, compresi un paio di missili persi per slamata o rottura nonostante le attrezzature potenti utilizzate; ovviamente non tutti sono giganti.
Catches are abundant, including a couple giants lost for trown hooks or breakage, in spite of the powerful tackle used; but of course not all are big.
