COME WITH US IN LAPLAND TO WILD LAKE JULY 2019

Ok, abbiamo una settimana opzionata per Luglio 2019 dal 13 al 20, forse il miglior periodo dell'anno per trovare i grossi lucci in acqua bassissima pronti ad attaccare i nostri topwater, situazione di pesca a vista da estrema emozione.
Purtroppo abbiamo avuto alcune rinunce per motivi personali/di salute e quindi ci sono un paio di posti liberi, forse ampliabili a 3.

We have a week reserved in July 2019 from 10th to 13th on the fantastic Wild lake in Lapland, an heaven for big pikes on topwater, perch and even trouts; one of the best weeks of the year for sight fishing possibly .
Sadly we had a couple of friends step back due to personal problems so we have a couple of vacancies, maybe 3.

I LOVE DARTERS

Un tipo di artificiale che ho sempre adorato, a partire dai datati ma sempre efficaci Yozuri Mag Darter e Ima Komomo e Sasuke, a tante altre esche meno diffuse e conosciute; penso di averci catturato l'impossibile nel corso degli anni, con però un preciso limite dato dalla costruzione senza armatura passante delle esche in plastica commerciali, con l'esclusione dei Komomo originali quando ancora prodotti in Giappone.
Altra "mancanza grave" per l'uso che ne faccio io è l'assenza di modelli di taglia seria adatti ai predatori di taglia maggiore.

It is a kind of lures that I've always loved, since introduction of the old but trusty Yozuri Mag Darter and Ima Komomo and Sasuke, not to mention a lot of lesser known ones; I've caught a bit of everything during the years, but with the limit given by the predominant lack of a strong through wire construction of commercial plastic lures, apart maybe original komomos when still built in Japan.
Other void left was concerning the size, as not big darters are available to pursue the bigger predators.

LAPLAND WILD LAKE LODGE, A NORDIC EXPERIENCE

Ultimo viaggio un poco insolito per il tropicalista che sono di solito, siamo stati in Lapponia svedese al Wild Lake Lodge gestito magistralmente da Big Fish Sweden , ovvero dal mio amico Piero Ometto che ha creato una splendida realtà nel nord della Scandinavia.

Un lago ghiacciato per 7 mesi all'anno, immerso tra montagne e foreste e costellato da una miriade di isole e scogli che creano un ambiente incredibile e ricchissimo di lucci, persici, ma anche trote e temoli.

Last trip we made was a bit unusual for a tropical addicted like me, we've been in Swedish Lapland, at the Wild Lake lodge owned and perfectly run by Big Fish Sweden , belonging to my friend Piero Ometto who created a very beautiful situation in teh far nothr of Scandinavian

The lake is frozen 7 months a year, and is is surrounded by muntains and forests, filled by an endless number of islands and rocks that create an incredible environment rich of pikes, perchs but also trouts and graylings.

Pikes are everywhere, in the shallows we caught mostly mid sizes fishes but very plentyful and aggressive on topwater.

Anche con attrezzi light, e parliamo di una Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 74II da 8 grammi :D , il divertimento è elevato dato che le taglie nei bassifondi generalmente sono accessibili in questa stagione, visto che i grandi esemplari hanno cambiato dimora nel post frega.

Also with very light tackle, a Yamaga Blanks Blue Current 74II rated to 8 grams, fun was great, considering the big fishes were out of the shallows due to the finished spawn duties.

Per trovare i più grossi, attrezzi più potenti come la Yamaga Xtremo 65, per lanciare grosse esche in acque aperte ...

We found bigger sizes in open water, using big lures on Yamaga Xtremo 65 rod...

Ovviamente tutti i lucci rilasciati come di consuetudine.

Quello che ci ha stupito poi è stata l'abbondanza e aggressività dei persici, che non solo si sono avventati su grubs e crankbait di piccola e media taglia, ma hanno spesso attaccato oggetti destinati ai lucci più grossi, persino in topwater.

What amazed us was the abundance and ferocity of the perch, they not only attacked our grubs and small to medium cranks, but they committed also on big lures intended for pikes, even on topwater.

E interessante la visita al villaggio lappone dei Sami, con le costruzioni originali, le renne in libertà e un laghetto affascinante.... sì abbiamo pescato anche lì ma solo baby lucci.
Notevole la renna cucinata sul fuoco di legna con accompagnamento di salsa di mirtilli e yogurt.

And very interesting the visit to the Sami village, with original buildings, free roaming reindeers and a small lake with lot of small pikes.
We had great meal with reindeer meat coocked on wooden fire with redberry and yogurt sauce to accompany.

In fin dei conti una bellissima esperienza in un ambiente incantevole, grazie agli amici con cui l'ho condivisa, e speriamo di replicare la stagione prossima :)
Senza dubbio il paradiso del pescatore di lucci.

After all an unusual but great experience for me, in a spectacular environment, with good friends, I hope to repeat next year.
